Dr. Sal Hemani

ABOUT DR. HEMANI
Dr. Hemani was raised in Dalton, Georgia and moved to Atlanta, Georgia to complete his undergraduate education at Emory University with a degree in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology. He went on to complete medical school at the Morehouse School of Medicine. He then completed his internship in general surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, before leaving the cold winters in the Midwest for the more pleasant climate in the South. He went on to complete his residency in anesthesiology at Emory University, where he also completed a fellowship in interventional pain management. He subsequently spent two years as an Assistant Professor of Orthopedics at Emory University.
Dr. Hemani is double board-certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine and is planning to open his own interventional pain practice in the northern suburbs of Atlanta. Currently, he specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide array of pain conditions, utilizing both minimally invasive surgical and non-surgical treatments for painful conditions of the neck, back, arms, legs, and major joints. He is trained in the latest techniques in fluoroscopy and ultrasound-guided procedures and continues to solidify his skills in the latest advances in the field. Dr. Hemani believes that actively involving and educating patients on their treatment plans is instrumental in helping them meet their individual goals and needs. He is excited about the newer advances in the field, including neuromodulation and regenerative therapies that allow us to better treat the source of pain and help restore function and quality of life for patients.
Dr. Hemani has been recognized in the 2022 and 2023 “Top Doctors” edition of Atlanta magazine, being nominated and selected by his fellow physicians for excellence in anesthesiology and pain management. He has authored multiple articles, book chapters, and abstracts and has presented at various national conferences. He is an active member of the North American Neuromodulation Society, Spine Intervention Society, and American Society of Pain and Neuroscience.
